Dinner: 2100 Petrelle, 34 rue Petrelle, 9th

Husband  woke up with a bad stomach. It was either the oysters from Parcelles or the rich food from Le Clarence. No matter, we had to cancel our 1230 lunch at Astrance. We relaxed in the apartment for awhile until he rallied around 12 and decided on the Marmottan, one of our favorite museums in Paris. We took a leisurely walk through the 16th to the museum. It’s just so very pretty! Arrived 1225; departed 145pm.

The Marmottan was wonderful, as always. The mansion upstairs with the glorious chandeliers, statues, paintings, illuminated manuscripts, Berthe Morisot collection, all lovely. And of course the Monets in the basement are spectacular.

We stopped at the boulangerie across from the apartment for sandwiches which we ate in the apartment. Husband was feeling a bit better so we decided to take the RER to Parc de Sceaux. It was easy, peasey until the stop we intended to get off at was closed. So we alighted at Croix de Berny. It turned out well because, after crossing the busy road, we entered the park at the far end so could explore a lot before getting to the castle. 415pm-545pm

It's big and pretty with different type of trees, flowering plants, water features. It was the Cherry Blossoms Festival and boy were those trees in bloom! Lovely! A lot of people were taking photos and enjoying this section. But overall, the park was quiet. We made our way to the castle and toured it. Also quiet. But really pretty on the inside. And the views from the windows were lovely.

We exited Parc de Sceaux via the Alle d’Honneur, beautiful! And downhill (literally) to the RER back to Paris.

It was too late to cancel that night’s dinner at Petrelle so off we went to the 9th via Metro for our 9pm reservation (the only time I could get weeks in advance!).  Very cute place, dim, romantic. Super nice staff. Delicious food—none of which husband ate because his stomach was very unhappy. I’d love to go back one day. Home around 11pm. Lovely day with some GI caveats, lol.
